hrill to the intricate beats of jig and
reel, the plaintif melodies or our traditional songs plus songs we
just sort of made up. This richly costumed show represents an
entirely new concept in dance entertainment using highly trained farm
animals to express the genuine spirit of our national dances, songs
and storytelling married to the most contemporary stage technology.
FarmDance - the Musical
has significantly changed the direction and scope of dance,
re-introducing the art form as the phenomenon it is today. The
professional companys repertoire is cutting-edge, redefining
the medium with all the passion, flair and precision without the use
of genetically enhanced farm animals like some other shows may use.
Using only "organic livestock" FarmDance
crosses dance and cultural
boundaries in artistically important ways, transcending craft to art
and creating a new vocabulary for step dancing. The choreography of
Bobbie Jo VanZeppert juxtaposes breathtaking aerial grace with hard
driving percussive power and lightening-fast agility. The result is a
surprisingly contemporary, thoroughly horrifyingly and engaging
artistic vision.

Murry Spielberg

film projects. He directed and co-wrote the musical stage version of
the hit movie "Jaws"
and recently completed a film for American Airlines about a
stewardess and the proper way to exit an airplane in an emergency. |
|
 |
Choreographer:
Billie Jo VanZeppert
Though she had never worked with farm
animals before, let alone tried to teach them to dance, Billie Jo was
up for the challenge mainly due to a massive head injury that has
given her the unique ability to take on any project without thinking
it through. The results speak for themselves. |
|
 |
Musical
Director: Tito Osmond
Tito was faced with a daunting task with
the music for "FarmDance -
the Musical" since all the
musicians in the orchestra didn't know how to play any instruments.
Showing the same innovation and resourcefulness that won him a Golden
Globe for scoring the television mini-series "Lonesome
Pigeon", Tito hired the
local high school marching band. His biggest challenge was then to
keep them from marching all over the theatre every time they began to play. |

Designer: Lamar
Lamar has been a force in the fashion
industry for over 20 years having designed his way across the country
creating costumes for celebrity stand-ins and impersonators. His

designing the costumes used by Carl Huffman in his one man show
tribute to Madonna. |
